The places to visit
Red Fort: This fort symbolizes the Mughal Era and their dynasty. It is a symbol of their rule in Delhi Sultanate. Built in the year 1638, the architecture shows Mughal brilliance in art and construction. The Fort has high 33mm walls surrounding it which were built to prevent the invaders. There is also a light and sound show, which is conducted every evening and it is a great experience.
Humayun Tomb: This tomb was built in the year 1570 in memory of King Humayun by his widow Haji Begum. This is a symbol of the ancient Persian architecture.
Qutub Minar: The symbol of victory, of the Mughals in India and the tallest standing tower of this country. The tall tower was built by Qutab-ud-din Aibak and the tower bears his name. This tower has five storey out of which the first three were made of red sand stones and the rest two with marble sand stones. India’s first mosque Quwwat ul Islam was built at the foot of this tower.
Bahai Temple: Commonly known as the Lotus Temple, it resembles the shape of lotus flower. Built in the year 1986, it is made of pure white marble. The temple is surrounded by nine water pools that flock the petals of the temple.
Lodi Garden: The quiet and serene greenery around you in the heart of Delhi, this garden was built during British rule in India during 1936. It has all the tombs of 15th and 16th century. The lush green surrounding soothes the day and is a place of escape from the daily pollution of the city. It also has a National Bonsai Park within it, which is another place to visit.
India Gate: The last but not the least is The India Gate. It was constructed in the year 1931 as the War Memorial for almost 70 thousand soldiers, who laid their life during the First World War. In the evening light, the gate looks stunning which was earlier known as All India War Memorial.
