The Guwahati Express, which is also known as the Kaziranga Express, is a tri-weekly superfast express train running between Guwahati, the largest city in the state of Assam and Bangalore, the capital of the state of Karnataka. The train runs on one of the longest routes in the country and scales an enormous distance of 2993kms in 53 hours 20 minutes at a great average speed of 56km/hr. The train also halts at 40 major stations located on its three thousand kilometer long route.

The Guwahati Tea Auction Center is not only a trade place but is famous among tourists as one of the largest and busiest tea trading center in the world. While running from Bangalore to Guwahati, the 12509 Guwahati express leaves Bangalore City Junction at 23:30 and reaches Guwahati at 05:50, after approximately 55 hours of journey. The 12509 serves leaves Bangalore on every on every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The 12510 returning Guwahati Express leaves Guwahati at 06:30 and reaches Bangalore 11:50 after 55 hours. The return train departs on every Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
