New Features for Train Ticket Cancellation Process

People are more interested in traveling, and they do have several modes of transportation. When they need some good comfort in very less rate, they can surely opt for the trains. Indian Railways is surely improving day by day. Starting from online booking to running train status, it has updated with the advent of technology. It is also growing along with the technology. Indian railways are indeed taking a lot of steps to improve the user-friendly environment for the passengers, and it has all been a very good response to this brave attempt. When one starts using the internet, everything has come to the net, and it is not good to still stick on to the traditional rituals. It is high time to stay digital, and that is what Indian railways is enforcing on. There are many confusions among the passengers and one among them is the ticket booking online. How to book, how to cancel, how to change the name and so on! One prevalent question is discussed here to clarify the doubts amidst you.

Indian Railway is updating various online systems that must be useful for the users as well as reduce the number of visitors to the station counter. Department of Indian Online Management has launched another feature that helps the user to cancel the confirm ticket at the counter. Passengers can now easily approach through a phone call or SMS to 139. The same number can be used to claim for refunding the payment. This service has been mainly launched in order enhance the passenger facilities commence by the railway minister Suresh Prabhu. On the same day, one more functionally has been initiated in Indian Railway, International Credit card, and debit card can be accessed to book the train ticket that is populated under the Non-Resident Indian (NRI) and for foreign travelers.

Steps to Cancel Booked Counter Train Ticket

Here is the process to cancel the Passenger Reservation System(PRS) counter ticket. There is no need for internet service in order to cancel train ticket Online booked at the counter, just take a phone in hand and dial 139 number, and then you will hear a list of features that can be used by selecting one option in it. But here for cancellation of booked counter ticket, the person need to choose the option 6 from the main menu that was delivered from Interactive Voice Recorder (IVR). Once after selecting the option the passenger will receive One Time Password (OTP) to confirm the cancellation and then the ticket will be canceled automatically. Once after the cancellation, the person needs to visit the counter within the limited period to get the refund amount from the station. Please note that the amount will be refunded only for the cancellation ticket confirmed through Passenger Reservation System (PRS) and also make sure that this cancellation system is not applicable for late running trains. The process is very simple and elegant when you need to do this. All you need to do is be aware of this cancellation process.

    WESTERN RAILWAY

There are 6 divisions under the Western Railway zone. The divisions are Mumbai Central, Vadodara, Ahmedabad, Ratlam, Rajkot and Bhavnagar. There will be different time table for each division and Western Railway announced New Train Time Table for each Division, which will be with effect from 01.10.2016.  But Mumbai Suburban Time Table is different and is already existing from 02.01.2016. Now Western Railway announced the Train Time Table of Rajkot and Ratlam Division only. Following are the details of New Train Time Table 2016 of each division of Western Railway.

Train no. 19006 Okha – Mumbai Central Saurashtra Mail will depart 35 minutes late from Rajkot at 18.20 hrs instead of its previous time of 17.45 hrs.

Train no. 19005 Mumbai Central – Okho Saurashtra Mail will arrive Rajkot 18 minutes late at 10.05 hrs instead of its previous time of 09.52 hrs.

Train no. 19017 Bandra – Jamnagar Saurashtra Janta Express will arrive at Rajkot 42 minutes earlier at 06.45 hrs instead of its previous time of 07.27 hrs.

Train no. 19018 Jarnnagar – Bandra Saurashtra Janta Express will depart 13 minutes late from Rajkot at 15.33 hrs instead of its previous time of 15.20 hrs.

Train no. 19215 Mumbai Central – Porbandar Saurashtra Express will arrive 14 minutes earlier at Rajkot in the midnight at 01.05 hrs instead of its previous time of 01.18 hrs.

Train no. 19222 Veraval – Ahemdabad Express will depart 1 hour and 40 minutes late from Rojkot at 01.15 hrs in the midnight instead of previous time of 23.35 hrs.

Train no. 15046 Okha – Gorakhpur Express will deport 2 hours and 15 minutes late from Rojkot at 02.10 hrs in the midnight instead of its previous time of 23.55 hrs.

Re-Numbering and speeding up of Express Trains

Train No.17035 Secunderabad-Sirpur Kaghaznagar Express will be speeded up and renumbered as Train No.12757 (new number). This train will now arrive Sirpur Kaghaznagar station at 13:40 hrs instead of 13:45 hrs from 1st October, 2016.

Train No.17036 Sirpur Kaghaznagar – Secunderabad Express will be speeded up and renumbered as Train No.12758 (new number). This train will now arrive Secunderabad station at 20:15 hrs instead of 20:20 hrs from 1st October, 2016.

SOUTH EASTERN RAILWAY

The departure time of 12 Mail/Express Trains originating from Howrah, Shalimar, Kharagpur, Haldia, Digha and Ranchi will be changed. This apart, departure timings of 4 Passenger/DEMU Trains will also be changed from Howrah, Balasore, Baripada and Rupsa w.e.f. 1st October, 2016.

11 pairs of Mail/Express Trains including Duronto Express will have additional stoppages which will be effective from 1st October, 2016.

Acceleration of Trains

 

23 Mail/Express/Passenger Trains including Rajdhani Express will be accelerated over South Eastern Railway system ranging from 2 minutes to 20 minutes which will also be effective from 1st October, 2016.

The train that can help one visit the heaven on earth

The Jammu Mail is a leading express train of Indian railway. It starts its journey from Old Delhi Railway Station to Katra which is known for the pilgrimage to Mata Vaishno Devi temple. It is a daily train that covers the distance of 661 kilometres in 15 hours and 2 minutes. One can see the scenic beauty of the state while being onboard. The train is operated by Northern Railway zone of the department. It runs at an average speed of 42 kilometres, and there are 29 stops on its route before it reaches the final destination.

Those who want to visit the temple of Mata Vaishno Devi must know about Jammu Mail as it is a direct train that connects the capital to Katra. The train has First AC, Second AC, and Sleeper class as well as seating arrangement also. There is also a three-tier AC and general class coaches for the passengers. On the route from Delhi, there are a number of important stations where the train halts. These stops include Ludhiana, Udhampur, Ambala, and Jalandhar.

Usually, this train is full of pilgrims as the final destination of the train is Katra. The devotees of Deity Vaishno Devi go for the blessings at Vaishno Devi temple and hence all the time the train is full of Hindu pilgrims. Though it is a daily train, it is better to book the ticket in advance as usually there are not much probability for one to get a confirmed ticket in just a few days.

Mumbai Train: The huge network has problems also of large size

The city of Mumbai has got great significance in the context of the nation. It is one of the metro cities and also known as the financial hub of the country. The city has a population of more than one crore and to meet the transportation requirement of people the local train network plays a vital role. However, the largest network of Indian railway also has to face various problems of the network in this city.

For the residents of Mumbai as well as commuters it is much helpful to know about the Mumbai Trains problem in Indian railway as it can help them save time and go for another option also. The worst problems here the passengers have to face is the late arrival of the trains at different stations. The traffic on the local trains is huge, and as one train gets delayed, the whole traffic of the next train also gets accumulated for the train which comes later. In case of any other express train on the same route arrives than the local train is also not cleared which adds into delay. There are also problems of cancellation of services due to water logging on low lines during the monsoon season, which creates a chaotic situation for the passengers as well as the department. The maintenance work is also a big factor due to which many trains are either cancelled or delayed till the lines are restored to the status of fully functional. Hence the big network has to face bigger problems.
