From 1959 some more changes taken place which was really appreciative.From 1979 the electrification of tracks on the station was initiated and Gummidipoondi was transfixed till 13^th of April 1979 not only this till 29^th of November Tiruvalur was also connected with line and rest 1 to 9 platform was transfixed till December of same year.
