Wondering if the caption is true or not, well this is absolutely true and as stated by an IRCTC official, Indian Railways has finally decided and told everyone that they have been introducing ‘Buy tickets Now and Pay Later’ service for passengers for any express trains. Isn’t it interesting? In accord to an IRCTC – Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation official, very soon travellers and passengers can avail this facility and buy tickets using the same from IRCTC portal and pay at a later date.

Just for the record, spokesperson of IRCTC Sandip Dutta stated, IRCTC has partnered with a leading Mumbai based company known ‘ePayLater’ for introducing and adding the ‘Book Now Pay Later’ feature. According to this, a passenger who needs to travel in any of the train can buy ticket 5 days before the travel date including a service charge of 3.5% and need to pay the amount in the next 14 days of time frame. This service and facility could only be availed with e-tickets.

Adding to this, he also said that like once the evaluation of the CIBIL score of a user is been checked out before issuing the credit card, likely the same procedure will be followed in this service. Those passengers who will opt for the same need to give their name, mobile number, email ID, Aadhaar number or PAN card details and once the approval is been given to them to use the feature, they will be sent with an OTP – One Time Password to use the service.
