There are no trains originating or terminating at the Bijwasan Railway station. The station is currently undergoing expansion to accommodate 35 incoming trains, and be the regional hub in the North Western Delhi. Northern Railways have identified Anand Vihar terminal and Bijwasan railway station to handle the passenger traffic at the three major railway stations: New Delhi, Delhi and Hazrat Nizamuddin Station. The station will be epicentre for modern facilities and will handle close to 250000 passengers after the renovation work slated to complete by late 2015.
Bijwasan Railway station is located at 5 Kilometres from the Indira Gandhi International airport, and also close to the Inter-City bus terminals. The station is well-connected to Delhi (24 KM), Nodia (29 KM), Bahadurgarh (22 KM), Gurgaon (13 KM), and other important parts in the National Capital Region.

The facilities at Bijwasan railway station were modernised since 2012 to develop this station as a major hub in the south-western region of Delhi district. There were proposals of having an air-conditioned waiting lounge in the centre of the station, innovative waiting rooms and other host of features. The Northern Railways is working to establish Bijwasan as a hallmark station on the lines of London King’s cross station. At present, the station is equipped with the cafeteria, integrated voice response system, book stalls, refreshment stores, foot over bridges between platforms and provision for prepaid taxi services. The key focal point of the station will be a two-floor foot over bridge, which will be air-conditioned and provide a place to relax and rest during their visit to the railway station. The Interstate Bus Terminal provides an easy transport to other parts of the capital city of Delhi.
