Badli is an old Yadav-dominated village in Delhi. Whenever Delhi was attacked, Badli was the first to face the invaders, who used to camp there. Badli is now an urban area as much of its land has been acquired for industries and for Delhi Development Authority’s Rohini project. As a result, Badli has an industrial area and most residents now work for the industry. Badli has a railway station and will also have the metro in the third phase of its expansion. Badli is an assembly constituency too and has Bhalswa and Jahangirpuri resettlement colonies, around 32 unauthorized colonies and some slums.

Badli Railway Station (station code BHD) has two platforms. It is an old station located on the main Delhi-Punjab line in Northern Railway’s Old Delhi division. Narela is a tehsil in the north-west part of Delhi’s National Capital Territory. It is on the Delhi-Haryana border and is Delhi Development Authority’s third urban expansion project after Rohini and Dwarka. The Industrial development of Narela began in 1980s and is now a vital cog Delhi’s industry.

Narela Station is on Delhi-Ambala Route –

Narela Railway Station (station code NUR) is on the Delhi-Ambala route of the Northern Railways and in the Old Delhi division. The airport nearest to Narela is the Indira Gandhi International Airport, which is 42 km away. As many as 40 trains operate from the Narela Railway Station every day. The station has two platforms. Trians connect Narela to places like Ambala, Jammu, Udhampur, Hoshiarpur, Allahabad Junction, Chandigarh, Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, Amritsar Junction, Pune, Bhatinda, Fazilka, Kalka, and Dadar.

Narela region is not on the Delhi Metro map at present. Delhi Metro’s Jahangir Puri station is the nearest station to Narela region. Narela itself is scheduled to have the Delhi Metro services in its Phase IV. The work on Phase IV is now on.

Overview of Delhi Cantonment Railway Station – DEC

Delhi Cantonment Railway Station (codenamed DEC) is the referred to as Delhi Cantt Station. The station is located near Janakpuri region of Delhi and is the suburban halt for the trains on the Delhi-Jaipur railway line. The station is built in 1914 and serves the cantonment area, which houses the Indian Army Headquarters, Defence Services Officers Institute and other reputed institutions. The station is well-connected to various parts of the country. There are express and super-fast trains that cross Delhi Cantt station daily from states like Rajasthan, Gujarat, Haryana, and others. The station falls under the administrative control of Delhi division under Northern Railways Zone of Indian Railways. Delhi Cantonment railway station is located at 15 Kilometres from New Delhi station, 6 Kilometres from Chanakyapuri, 17 Kilometres from Delhi Hazrat Nizamuddin Station, and 9 Kilometres from Delhi Safdarjung Railway station.

The Cantt station is a popular station in the western Delhi. Overview of Bijwasan Railway Station – BWSN

Bijwasan Railway Station (codenamed BWSN) is the only station in South West part of Delhi with a halt for passenger/express trains. The station is located in Dwaraka Sector 21 and is the suburban halt for over 27 trains on the Delhi-Jaipur railway line. There are express and super-fast trains that cross Bijwasan station daily from states like Rajasthan, Gujarat, Haryana, and others. The station falls under the administrative control of Delhi division under Northern Railways Zone of Indian Railways. Bijwasan station is located at 26 Kilometres from New Delhi station, 17 Kilometres from Patel Nagar, 36 Kilometres from Delhi Hazrat Nizamuddin Station, and 34 Kilometres from renovated Anand Vihar Railway station.

There are no trains originating or terminating at the Bijwasan Railway station. The station is currently undergoing expansion to accommodate 35 incoming trains, and be the regional hub in the North Western Delhi. Northern Railways have identified Anand Vihar terminal and Bijwasan railway station to handle the passenger traffic at the three major railway stations: New Delhi, Delhi and Hazrat Nizamuddin Station. The station will be epicentre for modern facilities and will handle close to 250000 passengers after the renovation work slated to complete by late 2015.

Bijwasan Railway station is located at 5 Kilometres from the Indira Gandhi International airport, and also close to the Inter-City bus terminals. The station is well-connected to Delhi (24 KM), Nodia (29 KM), Bahadurgarh (22 KM), Gurgaon (13 KM), and other important parts in the National Capital Region.

The facilities at Bijwasan railway station were modernised since 2012 to develop this station as a major hub in the south-western region of Delhi district. There were proposals of having an air-conditioned waiting lounge in the centre of the station, innovative waiting rooms and other host of features. The Northern Railways is working to establish Bijwasan as a hallmark station on the lines of London King’s cross station. At present, the station is equipped with the cafeteria, integrated voice response system, book stalls, refreshment stores, foot over bridges between platforms and provision for prepaid taxi services. The key focal point of the station will be a two-floor foot over bridge, which will be air-conditioned and provide a place to relax and rest during their visit to the railway station. The Interstate Bus Terminal provides an easy transport to other parts of the capital city of Delhi.

Overview of Adarsh Nagar Railway Station – ANDI

Adarsh Nagar is a newly developed town in Delhi state, and also, known as Naya Azadpur. It is near the Azadpur market, which is the largest fruit and vegetable market in Asia. Due to its vicinity near Azadpur Market, Adarsh Nagar holds a crucial place in terms of economy.

Adarsh Nagar Railway Station –

Adarsh Nagar railway station is under control of Delhi division of Northern Railway Zone and serves people commuting to Azadpur market and nearby areas from other areas of Delhi and other neighbouring states. It also serves as a major means of transport for students travelling to colleges near Adarsh Nagar.

The Adarsh Nagar railway station has three platforms and all of them are easily accessible for passengers via over bridges.
