The honourable Railway Minister of India Suresh Prabhu flagged off this tri-weekly express train on 12th July 2016 held at Vijayawada railway junction. Running with two train numbers 17215 and 17216, train no. 17215 leaves Vijayawada station at about 23:10 hours and reaches Dharmavaram next day at 10:45 AM.

Train number 17215 runs on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday and stops at Guntur station. On the opposite hand, train number 17216 leaves Dharmavaram at about 17:50 hours and reaches Vijayawada station at 6:50 hours next day. It has been operating on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday and takes the same halt as of train number 17215 at Guntur station.

Venkatadri Express is one of the express trains from Indian Railways that runs connecting Chittoor to Hyderabad.
