An Exercise in Diplomacy;
The train was first introduced between Indore and New Delhi but was then extended to Jammu Tawi. During October-November 1985, the train was run once a week on Fridays in each direction between Indore and Lahore in Pakistan. It was train diplomacy between India and Pakistan. But the Indore- Lahore Special was withdrawn after 55 days after some controversies.

The Raptisagar Express is a superfast train running between Trivandrum Central in Kerala and Gorakhpur in the state of Uttar Pradesh. The train scales an enormous distance of 3248km in approximately 59 hours at an average speed of 55km/hr, halting at 59 important locations along the route.
