About Train:
Celebration of Navratri festival & ‘Nine nights’ of festivity in honour of Goddess MaaDurga began on 6th April 2019. For this Indian Railway also began a special train service for the pilgrims who are planning to visit Maa Vaishno Devi Temple in Jammu & Kashmir.
Vaishno Devi is probably one of the most religious centers for the Hinduism followers. The temple here is situated in the Trikuta Mountains and is dedicated to the Hindu Goddess Mata DurgaAdiShakti. The temple is located near Katra in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir and it is visited by thousands of devotees each year.
Especially high rush of the pilgrims during festival of Navratri which is of 9 days & celebrating twice every year.
IRCTC introduced weekly (Navratri Special Train – 2019) special:
Indian Railway introduced weekly special train with an extended destination up to Katra naming Yesvantpur – Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra& replace its old name Yesvantpur-Hazrat Nizamuddin. This weekly express train (06521/22)flagged off on April 4, 2019 and running in between Yesvantpur Junction (YPR) which serves the city of Bengaluru in the state of Karnataka & Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra (SVDK)which is located in the State of Jammu &Kashmir. Train running with on an average speed of 54 km/hour & it covers the entire journey from YPR(Yesvantpur) to SVDK or SVDK (srimatavaishnodevikatra) to YPR in the duration of 57- 60 hours & 20 minutes. If we talk about number of halt of this train in between is 28 with 489 intermediate stations.
