About Nearest Metro Station to Lodhi Garden: where natural beauty meets manmade magnificence

When planning a trip to Delhi, people try to keep it a two to three day affair so as to finish it and move on to other places nearby like Jaipur or Agra. However, something that nobody keeps in mind is that this vast city has so much to offer when it comes to sightseeing and monuments that it is impossible to see every bit of this beauty in a single day or two. To add to it, there are some exceptional places to shop from and explore the food as well, which cannot be done on a mere two day trip. It is easy to see Chandni Chowk and move ahead but the beauty of Lodhi Garden and the allure of Agrasen ki Baoli is something you miss upon.

Lodhi Garden – Tombs intermingled with beauty

Undoubtedly is the Taj Mahal the most beautiful tomb in the world, but Sikandar Lodi’s brilliance is something to be praised when you look at the Lodhi Gardens. Named after the emperors of the Lodi Dynasty, this garden is made in such a way that it houses a small pond, some monumental artefacts, which are the tombs of the rulers of the Lodi Dynasty and of course the garden. The place has been well kept and thousands of tourists can be seen visiting it all around the year.

There are photo walks and school trips organised to this place too so that more people can get to know about this not so famous place situated right in the centre of the city. Everything, from the architecture of the tombs to the beautiful flowers that have been planted here, compliments the aura of this place.

How to Get Here

Lodi Garden is situated right in the heart of the city, but it is still far from the hustle and bustle of this city owing to its location in the most posh area of the city – The central secretariat area, where all the major government buildings are housed. The garden is in near proximity to the Udyog Bhawan and the Central Secretariat Metro Stations.  However, the Udyog Bhawan Metro Station is a better option and can be said to be the nearest metro station to Lodhi Garden. Being one of the oldest metro stations on this line, there is barely any rush on this metro station and you can easily get on or off the metro here.

Since the area is kept quite protected, there are few taxis and autos available at the metro station to take you to the Garden. The ride from the metro station to the garden is about twenty minutes and it is a beautiful one with almost no traffic and lush green areas surrounding the roads. The Garden is open from nine in the morning to 6 in the evening, therefore you can visit the place anytime in between. It is better to opt for the metro since the roads are usually crowded these days and chances are that you might get stuck in jams for long.

If you are visiting Delhi via train for a vacation, do check irctc seat availability and make your booking timely.
