The Erode Junction Railway Station (station code ED) is situated on the banks of the Kaveri on Southern Railway’s Jolarpettai–Shoranur line in Tamil Nadu. Established in 1947, Erode station now has four platforms and 12 tracks. It serves as a technical halt for long-distance trains. It was among the first stations to be electrified in Tamil Nadu. The large loco shed here has 338 diesel and electrical locomotives. Erode Junction is one of the major railway stations of the Southern Railway. As many as 265 trains use the station every day. Nine pairs of trains either originate here or terminate here.

Famous Food of Erode –

Erode offers authentic Tamil cuisine blended with Andhra and Karnataka styles. The food is usually spicy. Rice, the staple food, finds its way into almost all the dishes. Turmeric too is used generously. While various dosai, idly, uppitu, sambhar and rassam rule here, multi-cuisine restaurants can also be found easily.
